Grant\, M.D.\, M.B.A.\, FASA\n\nSenior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan\n\n\n\nPrior to his arrival\, Dr. Grant was the chair of the department of anesthesiology and physician executive of perioperative services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Before moving to California\, Dr. Grant as professor and chair of anesthesiology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and the chair of the department of anesthesiology at Beaumont Health Royal Oak Campus.\n\n \n\nDr. Grant has held numerous positions in organized medicine. He served as the president of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Prior to his elevation to the presidency\, he served as first vice- president\, and treasurer and had been on the ASA Administrative Council from 2006-2019. Additionally\, he chaired both ASA's Section on Fiscal Affairs and the Committee on Executive Compensation. Dr. Grant has been on the ASA Board of Directors since 1999. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Anesthesia Foundation and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research.\n\n \n\nDr. Grant currently services as the chair of the delegation and section council on anesthesiology to the American Medical Association.\n\n \n\nA past president of both the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) and the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists (MSA)\, Dr. Grant received the MSA's President's Award in 2012 and the MSMS Presidential Citation in 2014. In addition\, he served on the Michigan Board of Medicine for seven years and was chair from 2003-2006. He is an examiner of the American Board of Anesthesiology and was elected of the Michigan delegation to the American Medical Association where he served as chair from 2014-2019. In addition\, Dr. Grant is a member of the California Medical Association and Los Angeles County Medical Association.\n\n \n\nDr. Grant received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing\, his Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University in Detroit and his Master of Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in Bloomington\, Indiana. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.\n\n \n\nDr. Grant and his wife\, Lisa\, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician\, reside in Bloomfield Hills and have two children\, Brendan and Alexandra.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChristine A. Nefcy\, MD\, FAAP\n\nChief Medical Officer\, Munson Healthcare\nChristine A. Nefcy\, MD\, serves as Chief Medical Officer for Munson Healthcare\, providing strategic direction for clinical initiatives and strengthening clinical practices across the system. She also oversees system quality and collaborates with the executive directors of the service lines.\n\n\n\nPrior to joining Munson Healthcare\, Dr. Nefcy worked as a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Intermountain Healthcare\, a 22 hospital\, non profit system based in Salt Lake City\, Utah. Dr. Nefcy was the CMO for four of the hospitals\, representing the northern region of the system. \n\n\n\nDr. Nefcy graduated summa cum laude for her bachelor's degree from Bradford College in Bradford\, MA. She earned her medical degree from The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda\, MD\, and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Uniformed Health Service Education Consortium Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio\, Texas.\n\n\n\nDr. Nefcy is a Fellow of the Academy of GE Fellows and the Intermountain Healthcare executive development program. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2018.
