Description
OVERVIEW:
A strategic priority for Traverse Connect is to broaden our talent attraction and development programs to help diversify and rebuild a resilient regional economy. Remote work attraction programs and attracting workers in the freelance and creative industries are critical to these efforts.
In our drastically altered employment environment, people have been learning to work remotely, freelance, or have found themselves newly unemployed. They are all asking themselves, "What's next?" This workforce, especially young families seeking a better quality of life outside of big cities, is looking for the right combination of healthy living and quality careers.
We can actively recruit this talent – and their salaries, spending and creative ideas - by providing space, incentives, networks and support programs to support a new remote workforce. The Grand Traverse Region can be their answer to 'what's next.'
In this Economic Strategy Session remote work thought leader, Laurel Farrer, will share best practices for remote work teams, as well as recommendations for regional economic growth as we shift further toward a remote work economy. Then, join Aaron Bolzle, Executive Director of Tulsa Remote, to hear about how Tulsa attracted new talent to the city by paying remote workers to relocate and live there.
