This facilitated conversation will cover the truth about what does and doesn’t work when it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. From there, we will explore how we can create culturally responsive businesses that can adapt to the changing demographics of our customers, clients, and employees.
About our Speaker:
John Parker - Der Boghossian
John is the Equity and Inclusion Officer for Normandale Community College, the largest community college in Minnesota serving 14,000 students. Previously he served as the Equity and Inclusion Education Manager for Rainbow Health Initiative and as the Senior Diversity Officer for Saint Paul College.
He presents on topics of equity, inclusion, implicit bias, and intercultural competence at conferences throughout the Midwest. John evaluates organizational efforts to advance equity and inclusion, facilitates the development of equity plans, as well as provides educational workshops and coaching services.
He is a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory – the premier assessment tool for developing intercultural competence. He has completed the Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience level one certification and is currently enrolled in the Neuroscience Academy.
John’s past clients include Allina Health, Fairview Health, HealthPartners, LeadMN, University of Minnesota, Hennepin Technical College, Inver Hills Community College, Community-University Health Care Center, Lake Superior Community Health Center, and the Saint Paul & Minnesota Community Foundations.
John serves as President of the Armenian Cultural Organization of Minnesota and as a board member for the International Armenian Literary Alliance. He holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Minnesota.
