Join us in the ribbon cutting for Discovery Traverse City Tours 2025 launch season! This ribbon cutting will take place at 4:30pm on May 15. Food and drinks will be provided with an optional ticketed boat tour. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Join us in celebrating our 2025 Season Launch! The Discovery, Traverse City’s only on-the-water event venue, sets sail this May for a new season of daily tours, private charters, and special events through October. Docked at the Discovery Center, the 135-passenger, double-decker vessel features indoor and outdoor seating, a food and beverage bar, climate-controlled interiors, and restrooms—making it accessible and comfortable for all ages.
Co-owners Tawny Hammond, Caroline Oosterhouse, and Jennifer Szunko emphasize The Discovery's focus on hospitality, safety, and showcasing local flavors from the region. Special cruises during the National Cherry Festival and Fourth of July fireworks are planned, along with daily scenic tours.
With its size, stability, and comfort, The Discovery offers a one-of-a-kind experience on Grand Traverse Bay and is ideal for weddings, reunions, and group events.
