Controller

Copper Ridge Surgery Center is an award winning, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan.  We are seeking a Controller to join our Leadership Team to manage its financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Close: Prepare reconciliations and execute the month-end close process ensuring accurate GL, AP, AR, and accruals. Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and supporting schedules for the surgery center and associated entities. Present and distribute financial reports to stakeholders, leadership and boards.

Compliance & Internal Control: Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies; strengthen internal controls.  Cash & Treasury Management: Manage cash, lines of credit, and bank functions with CEO.

Special Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and present various financial analyses, operating and capital budgets, and medical equipment procurement support to stakeholders, leadership and boards.

Operational Liaison: Act as a key contact for CPA firm, banks, legal counsel and leadership to support financial operational decisions.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Previous experience in a Controller or senior accounting role, preferably within healthcare. Condominium association accounting experience also helpful.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial/accounting software systems and advanced Excel.

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, presentation and problem-solving abilities – be good to work with.

Hybrid in Traverse City, In-Person initially
