We're looking for the person who wants to be our next-generation electronics guru, beginning with learning and supporting our existing products but growing into the champion of new product development, leading the charge from concept to implementation. Core electronics background is a must but the ideal candidate will be detailed and thorough with a passion for solving problems and making things better.
Key Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electronic instrumentation and electronic circuits
- Ability to read schematics
- Understands circuit design
- Knowledge of mechanical design
- Knowledge of control systems programming, e.g. LabVIEW (or interest in learning)
- Forward-thinking; Looks for opportunities to improve processes and products
- Ability to learn quickly the necessary skills/fundamentals
- Collaborative
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Willing to travel occasionally to install or support systems at customer sites
- Ability to leverage outside resources effectively to solve problems
- Able to figure out a way forward even if no previous experience
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership for operation of all production processes, including test systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot production tooling and test systems
- Support new product introduction by (for example):
- coordinate construction of prototype(s)
- prototype testing (and report, if required)
- update product bill-of-materials, assembly and test documentation
- identify or design electrical and/or mechanical assembly and test fixtures and instrumentation
- design electrical and/or mechanical assembly and test fixtures, as appropriate
- provide local and field support (including occasional travel) for prototype debugging
- Advocate improvements to existing products including cost reductions
- Provide technical support for sales staff and customers directly, if needed
- Continually improve skills and acumen through personal development, particularly as it applies to Binsfeld products
