Grand Traverse Pavilions is looking for an experienced Billing Specialist to join our Finance team.
This position plays an important role in supporting our residents, families, and organization by ensuring accurate and timely billing, following up on claims, maintaining financial information, and helping residents and responsible parties understand insurance coverage and billing questions.
The Billing Specialist works with a variety of payer sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, PACE, Hospice, and Medicaid Waiver programs. This role also assists with accounts receivable, collections, resident trust accounts, and other accounting functions.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has nursing home billing experience
- Understands Medicare, Medicaid, insurance billing, and accounts receivable
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented
- Communicates clearly and professionally with residents, families, insurance companies, and coworkers
- Is comfortable researching and resolving billing or payment issues
- Can handle sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and compassion
- Has experience with PointClickCare and Waystar, preferred
Full-time | Traverse City, Michigan | $45,000-$65,000 annually
