Group Golf Sales Manager

Job Summary
The Group Golf Sales Manager is responsible for the direct solicitation and booking of golf groups of 24 or more people and golf tournaments. This sales manager is also responsible for handling overnight ski group business. This position is bonus eligible with potential of up to 20% of the posted salary.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat golf business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, referrals, networking, etc.) to maximize golf group revenue and exceed goals.
  • Book new and repeat ski groups through various efforts to maximize group ski revenue.
  • Serve as first point of contact for Requests for Proposal and promptly respond to golf and ski inquiries.
  • Maintain timely and thorough correspondence throughout the sales and coordination process.
  • Effectively coordinate and manage all correspondence, contracts, files, sales literature and guest contacts/questions for golf groups.
  • Follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in all documentation and data.
  • Maintain market databases in Amadeus Delphi and Springer-Miller.
  • Work in tandem with the Golf department and Conferences Services to ensure client information transfer is seamless to guests.
  • Notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments as needed and quickly, efficiently respond to customer issues and problems.
  • Ensure quality experiences and enhance future sales prospects.
  • Create selling strategies to capture accounts, while maximizing revenue.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business, and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase market share.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive records and files to provide group history.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate and informative list of outside vendors to provide and recommend to customers for services not provided by Crystal Mountain.
  • Attend appropriate resort meetings and training sessions.
  • Participate in golf/trade shows and industry appropriate events to maintain high visibility for golf group opportunities at Crystal Mountain.
  • Assist other staff members with daily duties as needed and directed.

Job Specifications
Competencies:
  • Thorough knowledge of standard sales contract procedures.
  • Required software knowledge to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Amadeus & SMS. 
  • Effective business writing skills (grammar, vocabulary, clarity and brevity).
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.

Physical & Other Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are part of the annual work schedule.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Valid unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License required.
