About Us
GFA (Gourdie-Fraser) was established in downtown Traverse City in 1948 as the John C. Norton Company, land surveyors. While surveying is still a cornerstone of our business, over the years our capabilities have broadened to include civil and structural engineering, land surveying, hydrographic/bathymetric surveying, construction testing and observation and water/wastewater contract operations. We serve both public and private sector clients. GFA is a registered federal contractor and a 50+ year member of the TC Chamber.
