About Us

WHAT IS AN EDC ? An Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to focus on promoting long term economic growth specific to our regional geographic ecosystem. We seek to help protect and grow current businesses, foster a start-up community, and attract new business to the area. Our goals include understanding existing business concerns to discover the true barriers to growth in the region, as well as work with both public and private sectors to ease interactions between the two in order to create a more robust economic climate for the Grand Traverse Region.

WHAT GTEDC IS DOING ? The Grand Traverse Economic Development Corporation is an 11-member board appointed by the Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners. As the majority of the board operate primarily in the private sector, they are the voice of economic issues within the region, and actively promote strategic initiatives to move the County forward on business development.
