About Us

The Children's House and Compass Montessori Junior High is Traverse City’s only independent Montessori school for infants through 8th grade. Since opening our doors in 1984, The Children’s House has offered Grand Traverse area families the opportunity to choose an extraordinary education for their children.

We harness curiosity and discovery to inspire learning. As a result, our graduates are intrinsically motivated learners, critical thinkers, and strive for academic excellence.
