About Us

PoWeR! Book Bags is a 501c3 that distributes materials to children to support language, literacy, and human interactions. We invite children to select new books and PoWeR! Tool Kits containing materials for language play and writing at local sites where families receive assistance (ex. Health Departments, Food and Baby Pantries) as well as at Early Head Start, Head Start, child cares, preschools, & Schools. We intentionally work to promote equity for all children by increasing the literacy resources that are available to children at home. All of our work is based on research and best practices for children and families.
