Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for managing and assisting in medication dispensation and inventory control within the campus health center(s). This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the health and safety of students. The Pharmacy Technician is a Full Time Year Round position that will provide support for boarding high school students aged 14-19 years during the school year and for camp students aged 8-19 during the summer. We are looking for a 2nd shift candidate (from 11 am - 7 pm), 40 hours a week Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday during student check in days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage, dispense and administer medication to students according to physician orders and school policies.
Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and ensure proper storage and handling procedures are followed.
Receive and stock incoming medical supplies and drugs.
Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information and maintain patient records
Communicate with parents, healthcare providers, and school staff regarding medication-related concerns
Help educate students on proper medication usage and potential side effects
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to medication management
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution, and any other pharmacy technician duties

Skills and Abilities:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent vocational training program required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Special Training: Must hold current and unrestricted registration with the Michigan
State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
Equipment Familiarity: Routine office and pharmacy tech equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionally and courteously with other health care professionals, patients and members of the community
Knowledge of metric system, along with names, strength and dosage of forms of common medications, as well as common medical abbreviations
Strong technical aptitude required
Superior attention to detail required
