Event Marketing Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Event Marketing Intern is someone who believes in the fundamental value businesses provide to our
community. This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated person to support various events and
marketing projects. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in digital marketing, content
creation, and website management, with a focus on engaging the local business community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Website Maintenance: Assist with maintaining and updating the Traverse Connect website. Ensure all content is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Design: Manage the design and production of event graphics, signage, programs, and other digital and printed items for events in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Social Media Management: Support social media strategies by creating, scheduling, and maintaining posts for Traverse Connect on various platforms.
  • Investor Engagement: Publish and manage social media posts for new investor shout-outs, job opportunities from investors, and news releases related to investors.
  • Event Assistance: Assist with PowerPoint Presentations and day-of-event tasks.
  • Event Calendar Management: Publish and update TCYP events on the event calendar, ensuring the calendar is accurate and up to date with full event details.
  • Reels: Create engaging social media reels to promote upcoming event attendance, increasing visibility and engagement.
  • Other Duties: Assist with other website maintenance and content management tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Personal Characteristics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with website content management systems (WordPress preferred).
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Sufficient proficiency with Adobe Express, Illustrator, and InDesign for content creation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience with content creation or social media management is a plus but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very
active and is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and
arms. The employee must occasionally lift and move items up to 20 pounds.

Compensation Includes:
  • $15 per hour wage
  • Approximately 20 hours per week during normal business hours (occasional evenings based on the event calendar)
  • Primarily in person with some flexibility for remote work
