Congressman Bergman receives award at PACE North: 9/5/2025

PACE North Hosts U.S. Rep Jack Bergman on PACE Site Visit
Bergman has been a key advocate for expanding access to PACE to Veterans
(September 5, 2025 -- Traverse City, MI) PACE North -- which has served nearly 500 seniors -- welcomed U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman on a tour of its PACE center today.
Rep. Bergman has been a strong supporter of PACE in Michigan and nationally supporting seniors’ ability to age in the community and to access needed services through Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly or PACE.

“We are honored to have Rep. Bergman here with us today,” said Nicole Farkas, Executive Director.  “A program like PACE, which has changed the lives of so many community seniors and their families, is only possible when our federal and state leaders work together with local providers. We are appreciative of Rep. Bergman’s support and his presence here today to better understand the work we do and meet some of the people we serve.”

Earlier this year, the National PACE Association honored Rep. Bergman at their 2025 Spring Policy Forum in Washington, DC, with the NPA Federal Public Service Award. The Award recognized his leadership as the Republican lead on the original Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act. This groundbreaking legislation expanded the ability of veterans to receive care, including through Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), in their local communities. Leaders of PACE North and participants presented Rep. Bergman with a plaque from NPA in honor of the recognition.

Thanks to his unrelenting efforts with Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA) through several Congresses, the Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act became law this January as part of the Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act (P.L. 118-210).

The award reads:
In recognition of his outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing PACE in our nation, the National PACE Association honors U.S. Representative Jack Bergman.

Nationally PACE is a quickly growing model for providing services and supports to seniors in the community who need nursing home care.  Nationally, there are 188 PACE organizations in 33 states and the District of Columbia  serving over 86,000 enrollees.  Through strong support for PACE by Michigan leaders, there are 14 PACE organizations operating in the state.
