New Art Gallery Opens in Traverse City, Michigan, Showcasing Local and National Talent

Grand Opening Event at 525 South Union – August 9, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Traverse City, MI – Traverse City’s vibrant arts scene is about to get even brighter with the grand opening of Art on Union, a new gallery located at 525 South Union. The gallery, curated by Lisa Barnwell, will officially open its doors on Saturday, August 9th with a celebratory Grand Opening event from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Art on Union will feature a curated collection of artwork, spotlighting both local and national artists. With a focus on community engagement and supporting diverse voices, the gallery will showcase a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, pottery and mixed media.

"We’re excited to create a space where art lovers can gather, connect with artists, and experience a wide range of creative expressions," said Lisa Barnwell, curator of Art on Union. "This gallery goes beyond the canvas; it’s about building relationships, celebrating all forms of creativity, and providing an opportunity for both established and emerging artists to meet the art lovers and come together in a comfortable space.”

In addition to its rotating exhibits, Art on Union will host a variety of events, including artist demos, holiday open houses, and meet the artist events. The gallery aims to make art accessible to everyone and foster a deeper connection through the immersive and imaginative experiences.  Come discover art in a comfortable, friendly neighborhood gallery.

The grand opening will give attendees the chance to view original artwork from featured artists, meet Lisa Barnwell and more importantly, the artists!  Enjoy an afternoon of art and conversation, a live demo, and refreshments.  The event is free and open to the public.
