PACE North and One Senior Care Submit Plans to Partner in
Traverse City, Michigan
Traverse City, Michigan and Erie, Pennsylvania (May 11, 2026) – One Senior Care and PACE North today announced that they have notified regulatory bodies of their proposed affiliation for regulatory review. Upon closing, the transaction will support both the continued growth of the PACE program in Northern Michigan and the creation of a new, independent foundation dedicated to serving older adults in the region.
PACE North has served older adults in Traverse City and surrounding communities since 2019, building a trusted, community-based model that allows seniors to remain in their homes while receiving comprehensive care. As the needs of the region continue to grow across Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and Wexford counties, as well as parts of Antrim and Manistee counties, PACE North has been thoughtful in identifying how best to build on that foundation.
This affiliation reflects PACE North’s decision to align with an experienced, mission-driven organization that can help expand services to reach more seniors across rural Northern Michigan.
One Senior Care currently serves more than 1,200 participants across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky, with a focus on rural and medically underserved communities. Through this affiliation, PACE North will gain access to additional clinical, operational, and administrative resources to support its team and enhance local care.
“PACE North has built something special in this region,” said Craig Worland, CEO of One Senior Care. “This is about supporting that work and helping it grow. Rural communities like those across Northern Michigan deserve access to this level of care, and we are honored to partner with a team that has already earned the trust of the community.”
Both organizations are committed to ensuring continuity for participants, families, and employees. The local PACE North team will remain in place, with added support and resources from One Senior Care.
“From the beginning, our focus has been on serving seniors in this community with the dignity and support they deserve,” said Nicole Farkas, Executive Director of PACE North. “As we’ve grown, it became clear that partnering with an organization like One Senior Care would allow us to do even more for the people we serve today while expanding access to those who need it across Northern Michigan.”
Importantly, the proceeds from this transaction will be used to fund a newly established, independent foundation focused on addressing the needs of older adults in Grand Traverse County and surrounding communities. This creates a unique opportunity for impact: the PACE program will not only continue to serve seniors locally, but will be strengthened and expanded, while the foundation will have dedicated funding to support broader community needs.
“After thoughtful consideration, we believe this affiliation represents the best path forward for both the PACE program and the broader community,” said Betsy Aderholdt, Chair of the Board at PACE North. “At the same time, the creation of a new independent foundation allows us to extend our impact even further. With dedicated funding, the foundation will be uniquely positioned to address unmet needs and support seniors across Grand Traverse County and surrounding communities.”
The result is a dual investment in the region’s future, strengthening care delivery today while creating new resources to support seniors and families for years to come.
The affiliation is expected to close pending regulatory review.
