Traverse City Kiwanis and Kids Coalition Against Hunger Rally to Combat Child Hunger

Kids Coalition Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to significantly reducing child hunger in the United States and around the world.

This year’s meal-packing event will take place on Saturday, February 7, at 9:00 a.m. at Traverse City Central High School on Eastern Avenue. Volunteers aim to pack more than 20,000 meals during the event.
For the past 19 years, the Traverse City Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Family members—including Key Clubs from Traverse City Central High School, Traverse City West High School, and Traverse City St. Francis—have worked together to package meals for more than 317,000 people.

Mike Maasberg, Chair of Kids Coalition Against Hunger, expressed gratitude for the continued commitment of the Traverse City Kiwanis Clubs and their affiliated groups. “It is heartening to see the compassion and dedication of our community, especially the young volunteers who play such an important role in addressing hunger on a global scale. More than one-third of the meals packed will remain local and be distributed through the Father Fred Food Drive.”

The Traverse City Kiwanis Clubs are part of a global organization dedicated to serving the needs of children. Through collaboration with Kiwanis Family members, these efforts strengthen the community and make a meaningful difference for children and families both locally and worldwide.
