New adventures and amenities this summer at Crystal Mountain

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (July 15, 2025) – Crystal Mountain is excited to welcome locals and visitors alike to experience an impressive array of new attractions and enhanced offerings. Emphasizing adventurous family fun and unparalleled convenience, the 1500-acre resort is inviting guests to embrace the magic of long summer days, sparkling fresh water, and unforgettable experiences.

"Summer in northern Michigan is remarkable, and there are so many ways people can embrace the season on Crystal’s 1500-acre playground of fun," says Brittney Primeau, Director of Communications. "From our thrilling new activity packs to thoughtful touches like pet welcome baskets and expanded retail options, the team here is always looking for new ways to enhance the experience for both day guests and overnight guests."

Highlights of What's New This Summer at Crystal Mountain:

  • New Activity Packs:
    • Action Activity Pack: For the ultimate adrenaline seekers, this one-day pass offers unlimited rides on Michigan's only Alpine Slide, unlimited jumps on the Crystal Bungee Trampoline, and unlimited climbs on the 32-foot Vertical Edge Climbing Wall.
    • Course and Climb Combo: Perfect for those eager to test their strength and balance, this package includes two laps on the Edge Adventure Course, featuring a thrilling zipline ride over the Park at Water's Edge pool, plus two climbs on the Vertical Edge Climbing Wall.
  • New Gem Mining Activity: Unleash your inner prospector at the new Gem Mining activity, where guests can sift through paydirt in a 9-foot flowing water sluice to discover a variety of collectible rocks.
  • New Pet Welcome Baskets: Guests who request a pet-friendly accommodation will now receive a special welcome basket for their dog or cat, complete with a comfortable bed, food dishes, treats, and toys.
  • New Retail Products: There’s always something new coming to one of the six retail shops at Crystal Mountain. Here’s what was recently added, just in time for summer:
    • Fahlo bracelets: Each bracelet allows you to track a real animal on your phone, connecting you to wildlife conservation efforts.
    • Alpine Slide t-shirts to commemorate an exhilarating ride on Michigan’s only Alpine Slide.
    • Stylish summer cover-ups and pool gear at the Park at Water's Edge shop.
    • Sustainable Haiku bags and coastal-inspired Salty Cali jewelry at the Peak Boutique.
  • New Single-Track Bike Trail: Mountain biking enthusiasts will love the new portion of single-track bike trail, sponsored by The Pumping Service. This fun, flowy track features berms and rollers and connects directly to the popular Aspen Trail. Bikes and helmets are available for rent on-site.
These exciting additions complement Crystal Mountain's already extensive roster of summer activities, including two championship golf courses, archery, outdoor laser tag, the Park at Water's Edge 1-acre pool complex, and access to popular northern Michigan attractions like the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Platte and Betsie Rivers.

Crystal Mountain offers a vacation experience truly enjoyed by all ages, where convenience meets adventure in a breathtaking Northern Michigan setting. The resort is open seven days a week to day guests and overnight guests.
