Voices for Recovery Virtual Art Exhibition now accepting submissions through January 29
Campaign seeks to inspire hope for people in recovery for substance use disorder and those who support them.

Traverse City, MI – Munson Healthcare is excited to announce the launch of the Voices for Recovery Virtual Art Exhibition, a groundbreaking digital art gallery designed to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and inspire hope for individuals impacted by substance use disorder recovery.

This powerful initiative invites artists of all backgrounds to share their stories through visual expression, showcasing the resilience, creativity, and strength of those on the journey to recovery.

The exhibition will be accepting submissions from artists of any level of experience between now and January 29. The Voices for Recovery campaign seeks to build a supportive, inclusive community that amplifies the voices of those directly affected by substance use disorder, whether through their own lived experience with addiction recovery or those who have supported a loved one.

“Understanding recovery without judgement or bias comes from being open to stories and experience,” said James Whelan, MD, Medical Director of Munson’s Clinically Integrated Network. “For many, art speaks more powerfully than the spoken word and this project uses art as one of the paths to recovery by telling the story of individuals and families in a powerful and relatable way.”
Artists are invited to submit their paintings, photographs, sculptures, digital art, and mixed media works online at: recovery.voicesforcommunityhealth.org. Whether through abstract pieces or deeply personal narratives, every piece will contribute to a larger message of hope and healing.

“For those of us who have been on this journey, art provides an avenue to express our feelings and emotions to others,” said Paul Bock, Munson Healthcare Peer Recovery Coach. “Voices for Recovery shows us that we are not alone and once I discovered that, things started to change. It gave me hope and I believe others can find the same inspiration through these artistic expressions.”
