PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 13th Circuit Court Family Division & Probate Court would like to invite you to make a difference in the community by donating your time to someone in need. Since 1971, the Volunteer Division has worked under the belief that citizen participation was much needed to enrich the court’s work with the community. Today, under the guidance of Judge Jennifer Whitten, Volunteer Services still believes in that original mission: to create opportunities for everyday citizens to engage in the community through volunteering.

Just one person has the power to make a long-lasting impact for those in need. You can serve in a number of roles by completing state-mandated reviews of guardianships for both minors and adults, or assisting conservators with annual reports of income and expenses, or as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children of neglect/abuse cases, and more! No experience is required, just the time and willingness to help!

They are dedicated to helping you to find the volunteer role that fits your schedule and interests. Volunteering with the court may require working with high-risk individuals. Standard background checks will be completed prior to any training and may also require fingerprinting.

Find out more about your courts, your community, and what you can do to enrich your life while helping others by calling 231-922-4827 or emailing jweber@gtcountymi.gov to learn more and to schedule your interview today!
