Northern Michigan Fall Colors and Festive Fun at Crystal Mountain
THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (September 16, 2024) – Before Crystal Mountain dons its white winter coat of snow, it’s wrapped in a vibrant tapestry of fall colors. The official start of fall is a few days away, but it’s not too early to start planning your leaf-peeping trips to northern Michigan to see the fiery reds, deep oranges, and golden yellows that surround this four-season resort.
Scenic Chairlift Rides
This unforgettable experience is a must for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone seeking a bird's-eye view of the fall foliage. Visitors are invited to sit back and relax on a quiet chairlift ride to the top of the mountain where panoramic views, more than 1,000 feet above sea level, looking over four counties await. Available Saturdays in September for $10 and Saturdays and Sundays in October for $15.
Fall Fun Saturdays
Saturdays in October provide an opportunity to experience fall like never before. Enjoy a relaxing chairlift ride, feel the wind in your hair with a thrilling trip down the new dual Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide, reach new heights on the new Crystal Bungee Trampoline, or rent a bike and pedal your way through the colors along 12+ miles of mountain bike trails. Come for the day or stay the night - there are plenty of accommodations to choose from as you plan your autumn adventure days complete with scarecrow walks, pumpkin carving, outdoor laser tag, and more.
Fall Spa Days
Crystal Spa is your 18,500-square-foot sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation this fall season. From October 1 to November 17, 2024, enjoy Fall Spa Days and save up to $40 on all facials, body treatments, and select massages. Plus, spa guests enjoy complimentary access to eucalyptus steam rooms, infrared saunas, an indoor relaxation lounge, and an outdoor hot tub in the mosaic garden.
"As the leaves change and the temperatures drop, there’s no better way to nourish your mind and body than with a relaxing visit to the spa,” said Andrea Argy, Crystal Spa Manager. “Our seasonal treatments, featuring all-natural warming ingredients and soothing techniques, will leave guests feeling refreshed and renewed for the colder months ahead.”

Fall Golf

Both the Betsie Valley and Mountain Ridge golf courses offer tree-lined fairways and panoramic views. Take advantage of fall golf specials, with up to 30% off select tee times and great twilight rates. Juniors get 60% off golf any time and golf for free with a paying adult on a golf package or twilight deal. The 18-hole golf package, which includes lodging and unlimited use of the learning center, is the perfect golfer getaway.
The golf course is just one of the different ways to view autumn in northern Michigan. There’s also the Michigan Legacy Art Park, a 30-acre wooded preserve featuring 50+ sculptures and other works of art representing Michigan’s history and culture. The nearly 2-mile hiking trail is open year-round with each season providing a unique northern Michigan experience.
