The Folded Leaf Issues Urgent Call for Community Support Ahead of Thanksgiving

Cedar, MI – November 12, 2025 — The Folded Leaf is calling on the Northern Michigan community to come together and help provide essential support for more than 60 local families in need this Thanksgiving season. With many households having six or more members, the demand for assistance has grown significantly.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Donate Winter Gear: All sizes of snow boots, coats, snowpants, gloves, and hats are needed to keep families warm during the harsh Michigan winter.
  2. Volunteer for Meal Prep: We need volunteers to help cook and prepare meals on November 24, 25, and 26. Your time and effort will make a direct impact on families’ holiday celebrations.
  3. Make a Monetary Contribution: Some high-value essentials—such as milk, eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, diapers, and baby powder—are rarely donated. Monetary donations will help us purchase these items. Our goal is $25,000, which will also allow us to provide similar support for Christmas.

Drop-off Location: 9044 S. Kasson St. Unit A, Cedar, MI 49621

Contact: Call Rachel for more information at 805-698-1613.

Together, we can ensure that every family in our community has a warm, nourishing, and joyful holiday season. Thank you for answering this call for community!
